Asdrius - 2007-08-09, 20:36 Hi, It's sad that so many posts were lost, but it's no big deal, life must go on Here are some new observations from this month: 2007/08/02 Flew on UN858, green plane: A319 VP-BTN Sibir SBI900 EDDF-UUDD Flew on UM996, practically the only flight I observe to use this airway B737-400 UR-VVL Aerosvit AEW216 ESSA-UKBB 2007/08/03 Flew on UM870, very rare, Arkia flies to Stockholm only 1x per week and only in summer season. There is something written on the belly, but I can't read it off, too little zoom B757-300 4X-BAU Arkia AIZ548 ESSA-LLBG 2007/08/09 19:27 Flew on UN858, nice blue colors: B747-200F VP-BIA Air Bridge Cargo ABW266 EDDF-UUEE 19:58 Flew on UN858: A320 Air France AFR2544 LFPG-UUEE That's All grztus - 2007-08-09, 23:14 Thank's Asdrius! Nice Arkia, I love B757 and the 300 version is really rarely view at our sky, I don't remember if I have seen it any time. PawelB - 2007-08-10, 20:49 Hi Asdrius J'm fond of B747 Air Bridge Cargo since I've seen him 8 days ago first time in life. Last day during stay at the Baltic seaside and 50 minutes before return to home that plane made surprise 10 days still waiting for plane has brought profit. Greets contrailsUK - 2007-08-13, 14:57 Hello, My trip to Wales was very successful for contrailspotting, nearly everyday had clear skies and there were plenty of contrails. I stayed near the Brecon VOR (BCN) which surrounds airways UL9, UN14, UN38, UN864, UL180, and UN862. Here is an airspace map of the location, as you can see the skies were a lot busier on holiday than at home!: A pic of 3 contrails on the UL9 airway: Now onto the telescope pictures. I'll try to add as much info as I can but it was difficult to identify most flight numbers and what airway they were on. # = Unknown Flight no. 27-7-07 GEC8189 KORD-EDDF UL9 AAL141 EGLL-KJFK UN14 28-8-07 DAL# Heading E UL9 MSK# Heading W UL9 USA750 KPHL-EBBR UL9 OHY# Heading W UL9 NDC# Heading E UL9 RYR# Heading W UL9 SWR400 LSZH-EIDW BAW# Heading W UN14 MAH97 CYYZ-LHBP UL9 AFR# Heading W UN14 USAF C-5 Galaxy Heading W UN14 29-7-07 ACA851 EGLL-CYYZ UL9 DLH# Heading W UL9 CLX775 KLAX-ELLX UL9 EZY# Heading S UN864 GSM# Heading N UN864 MYT# Heading N UN864 EIN# Heading W UL9 PGT# Heading E UL9 30-7-07 GSM# Heading S UN864 DAL70 KATL-LIRF UL9 DLH447 KDEN-EDDF UL9 UAL940 KORD-EDDF UL9 DAL20 KATL-EDDF UL9 AAL84 KORD-EDDF UL9 SWR15R KJFK-LSZH UL9 DLH# Heading E UL9 TSC# Heading E UL9 SWR9T KORD-LSZH UL9 SIA25 KJFK-EDDF UL9 TSC606 CYYC-EDDF UL9 LTU1551 KJFK-EDDL UL9 UAE202 KJFK-OMDB UL9 DLH# Heading W UL9 ? I especially like that Delta 767-400 flying below other contrail. grztus - 2007-08-13, 19:48 Fantastic holidays! Amazing pictures James Kshyhoo - 2007-08-13, 22:47 The Galaxy kicks some ass really hard!!! One of the best RNAV pictures i ever saw. IMHO with great potential on airliners or jetphotos - with proper postprocessing. Yesterday I only made one picture, as you can see lots of radiation during the summer spoils photos Asdrius - 2007-08-17, 18:33 Hi, ContrailsUK - now I see what heat radiation can do For me it's not a big problem yet, my equipment is not powerful enough for radiation to make a difference Made some shots on wednesday evening. On other days weather was also clear, but no contrails on planes 2007/08/15 Another summer highlight for me - Astraeus 757. Rare 1x weekly flight , late in the evening, only on summer visible in daylight. I have been trying to catch it whole summer 19:25 on UN858, at FL370 B757-200 G-OOOB Astraeus AEU57 EGKK-UARR 19:32 on UN858 A320 Air France AFR2544 LFPG-UUEE 19:40 on UN858 A321 VP-BQX Aeroflot AFL252 LFPG-UUEE 20:15 on UN858 A300-600 Lufthansa DLH3188 EDDF-UUEE That's all PawelB - 2007-08-17, 18:43 Witam Thats it! I hope you enjoyed my report. Yes, I'm Airways in UK are magical (and photos too) Greets meteo_expert - 2007-08-19, 08:03 ContrailsUK, awesome pictures. Congratulations :)))) Asdrius - 2007-08-26, 16:33 Hi, Not good week for contrail spotting, only 2 pics in whole week . Bad weather is blocking the sky for several days now. 2007/08/18 20:28 A319 Lufthansa DLH3208 EDDF-UWGG 20:40, Aeroflot 767's are rare for me. Must be a lot of passengers on Saturday, because 767 replaced the usual A320/A321's on this route. B767-300 VP-BWW Aeroflot AFL252 LFPG-UUEE That's all. contrailsUK - 2007-08-26, 18:23 Hi Asdrius, I also saw an Aeroflot yesterday for the first time It was AFL317 UUEE-KIAD but did not get a photo For the last couple of days there had been some very unusual traffic over England due to change in the North Atlantic Tracks, flights which I normally see are routing more North than they usually do. regards, James Asdrius - 2007-08-28, 13:37 ContrailsUK but it's nice thing that espacially long range flight routing is not constant, they always change. Keeps contrail spotting not so boring. For me when winds at high altitude are favorouble I see lot of eastbound long-range flights from europe to asia, but when winds change all eastbound flights dissappear, but westbound flights returning from Asia appear. So I never lose, I always get either eastbound or westbound long range traffic above me Of course I would like to have both at the same time. I guess it is similar situation for you with north atlantic long range traffic. contrailsUK - 2007-08-29, 14:28 ContrailsUK but it's nice thing that espacially long range flight routing is not constant, they always change. Yes, it is a similar situation for me, at the moment I have a lot of westbound traffic on the Southside airway (UN20), and little amount of eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic is not as good for me as aircraft fly in front of the sun at this time of year, so I rarely taken pictures. Eastbound traffic routing via the northside airway (UM140) makes better pictures with the sun shining on them. Looking forward to winter with crisp, clear, blue skies Thanks, James. Asdrius - 2007-08-30, 21:24 Hi, Few more high altitude shots yesterday: 2007/08/29 First time ever I observe Aerosvit transatlantic flight above Vilnius. It's a pitty without contrails 11:38 on UM870 B767-300 Aerosvit AEW132 KJFK-UKBB 18:09 on UN858 B737-300 Air Union (Kras Air) KJC316 EDDV-UUDD I also experimented yesterday with low altitude traffic. Airplanes, arriving to Vilnius Intl. from southwest being vectored to intercept ILS rw20 glideslope, pass above me around 2500-3000ft altitude: DLH3252 a B737-500 from Frankfurt: CSA872, also B737-500 from Prague: LOT771, an ERJ170 from Warsaw: LIL471, and another B737-500 from Paris: Overall it was very difficult to capture them, they move so fast over me, when at low altitude. I guess I'll have to keep picturing high altitude traffic. |
