Some more photos from Sunday. Between 1600-1700 I observed lots of traffic, but it was just impossible to capture all of them. When I had 2-3 planes cruising above at the same time, I had to choose only one which I had to concentrate to photograph.

Today in Vilnius a high level NATO meeting started. Lots of interesting government aircraft came in the morning, airport was packed to full capacity.

I took some pictures:
The highlight US Air Force E-4B :

Uk Air Force Bae-146 parked nearby

Polish Tu-154:



Also a lot of other govermental Gulfstreams, Challengers, Falcons, An-26s, German A310 and others from all NATO member countries.

Most of these planes will depart tomorrow (Friday)
I hope some of polish members might see some of them cruising above Poland tomorrow

Aha, so this is the reason, that my ACARS have been showing today two NATO AWACS: LX-N90447 (NATO 14) and LX-N90448 (NATO 21).

All NATO planes departed on Friday afternoon. Many interesting planes including USAF E-4B and GAF A310, flew over Poland. But I found no pics, it seems there were too many clouds over Poland that day

I think I am not the first, I think I saw some Air India 777-200LR photographed in this forum. But it's difficult to recognise LR model. It looks very similar to simple B777-200ER, which Air India also use.

ContrailsUK how you manage to get such clear shots of planes flying directly above? For me, using my scope it's very difficult to catch planes flying 80-90 degress above me. And you are using even more powerful telescope

mainly practise, but also because of the amount of photos I take as the plane flies over

Also I think because the dobson has steady movement.

Here is first picture with new scope and barlow lens.

Unfortunately pic is backlit, one went right overhead but I couldnt locate it as the finderscope wasnt ligned up properly
Cant wait to see one with the sun shining on it

Well, even for a backlit picture, that's amazingly clear view. Maybe you'll start now photographing planes on other airways which are backlit for you.
Of course now I'm curious to see how the pictures with better lighting will look like.
