Asdrius - 2009-02-04, 16:01 Hello. February started as a great month in Lithuania. First 3 days were completely clear, from dusk till dawn and good contrail conditions high above. Only it was a little a bit cold (temperatures around -14 C) 14:38 UL29 B737-500 LY-AWE SCAT; VSV5071 UAAA-EDDT SCAT airlines is rare catch in my area. February started as a great month in Lithuania. First 3 days were completely clear, from dusk till dawn and good contrail conditions high above. Only it was a little a bit cold (temperatures around -14 C) I havent seen clear sky for ages Asdrius - 2009-02-04, 17:49 grztus - 2009-02-04, 19:38 My last clear day before February 1st, was January 13. So I had to live for 18 days without clear skies I hope, this never come again Week ago I had a few hours of clear sky, and I've prepared a movie from my Synta with A340-600 Virgin Atlantic VS301 (there's a mistake in the title). The movie is 52 Mb size. CLICK I have also movies of SQ317 and QF32 - both at A380, but first I need to reinstall my WinXP, so maybe you will see it at weekend or a little later. Asdrius - 2009-02-05, 18:12 Nice video, I like the last 10sec the, when it's possible to see how airplane wake vortex distorts the contrail. What euipment did you use to capture this video? I tried some time ago, to put my Panasonic camcoder to the eyepiece of my spotting scope. It was very difficult to get a good view, lot's of vignetting (dark edges). Only when used full zoom on the camera, I could avoid vignetting, but the quality was not too good then. I also discovered, that the biggest problem with making videos of this kind is to keep the view stable. contrailsUK - 2009-02-12, 17:37 Hi, The days are beginning to get longer now, and I was able to spot the LAN Cargo 767 heading to EHAM and the UPS Cargo MD-11 heading to EDDK that usually appear in the summer: Seen this morning, North American Airlines 767 heading East to Ramstein AB: |
