Hi, Pawel
Wow, amazing photos, I saw a similar incident happen yesterday morning when I was at the bus stop, a 747 coming in from the West and an A330 from the East, they both crossed each other and it looked like they were going to crash. When you see two contrails going past each other like that you can actually realise how fast the pilots have to react in order to get further enough away. I once went to Heathrow, to myrtle avenue on a clear day, there was tonnes of traffic overhead I could not believe how lucky the people of London are.
_________________
ContrailsUK

This is the way distance and perspective cheat our eyes.
Which doesn't change the fact that London skies are extremely busy...

moli - 2006-11-10, 22:06
Hi! I went to London last summer .... the sky in town centre is so busy ... plane after plane ... every 3 minutes ... all day long ...

contrailsUK - 2006-11-10, 22:54
On the second pic, of the 3 from JetPhotos.net with the KLM, that picture was taken near my house, it mustve been on airway UN20, the main airway which links flights going to the carribean and Amsterdam nice to know someone else in the UK is interested in contrailspotting!!
NICE photography there moli, I see you live in Dublin, a main VOR there, I bet you see loads of contrails there

FL350 - 2006-11-10, 23:07
Three years ago I flew to Heathrow with my friend for a spotting weekend. I must say the city never gets quiet. You can hear jet whizz non stop. While standing on the Vauxhall Bridge we had approaching aircraft in our sight without any single break. One just passing overhead, another following, one more turning to establish on the loc and even a fourth strobing in the distance. A pure orgy, I'd say. Dozens of planes every hour.
The disadvantage was Heathrow spotting itself. When we went by lift to the rooftop of the car-park to film a departing Qantas 744, two female armed police officers came running and questioned us. Guess we were lucky to be able to walk away without any additional investigation. Maybe the interracial charm did its job a bit...

Hello!
More clear skies at the weekend and perfect opportunities to capture some contrails!
The contrailing altitude was much lower than usual, which meant that planes taking off from London Gatwick were contrailing at 25,000 feet!
I have a lot of photos
A British Airways 777 out of Gatwick heading for Caribbean regions on UN20:

Another portion of high-quality cruise alt pics.
I especially like the Kalitta's classic Jumbo.
Nice that you finally got three four-engined jets.

Keep shooting like this, man!
